In September 2022 started a tree plantation initiative with the students of the Piriati school and the support of the local association of women artisans (Amarie) and the Ministry of the Environment of Panama.
The chosen trees are specific local species and are planted as part of a drive to restore decimated ancestral forests.
An estimated 200,000 hectares of land are currently available for reforestation in the Emberà territory. The Emberà are former forest-dwelling people who remain very attached to nature and depend on it for their agriculture and crafts.
In addition to saving nature and biodiversity, reforestation projects in their territories benefit families and the entire village economy.
Without your support, they can do nothing. Please help them continue replanting the forest!
